Terms of Service
NOT LEGAL ADVICE: Plainzy is an AI-powered tool that helps you understand contract language in plain English. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in this service or these Terms constitutes legal advice. For important contracts — particularly those involving significant sums of money, property, or employment — you should consult a qualified legal professional.
1. About Plainzy
Plainzy is operated by Thoughtloom Digital Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17525958) with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. For any questions about these Terms or the service, contact us at hello@plainzy.com.
By using Plainzy, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the service.
You must be 18 or over to use Plainzy. If you are under 18, please do not use the service.
2. The Service
Plainzy provides AI-powered contract analysis. When you submit a contract, Plainzy will summarise key terms in plain English, identify unusual or risky clauses, answer follow-up questions, and provide a clause-by-clause breakdown (paid plans). Analysis results are generated automatically and may not be complete or accurate. You should always read the original contract yourself.
Where Plainzy is available. Plainzy is available only in the countries listed on our Availability page. Please do not subscribe to or use Plainzy from other countries. If you are outside those countries, we may decline your payment, refuse access, or end your access. This can include when a free trial ends and your first payment is due, if your card’s billing country is not on the list. Using a VPN or a billing address from another country to get round this is not allowed.
We may change the list from time to time. If we remove a country, we will tell you by email and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.
If you already have an account and travel to another country, you can keep using it.
3. Plans and Pricing
Free: 1 analysis/month, plain-English summary, red flag detection, file upload (PDF, Word, photos) or pasted text, up to 3 follow-up questions per analysis.
Personal — £3.99/month (or £29.99 billed annually — save 37%): Unlimited analyses, risk score, red flag detection, unlimited Q&A, full clause breakdown, export to PDF. Contracts analysed on Personal keep unlimited follow-up questions even if you later downgrade.
All prices are in pounds (GBP). If tax applies to your purchase, you will see it at checkout before you pay. New subscribers can get a 7-day free trial. We intend one free trial per account, and we may end a repeat trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged when it ends, and again each time your plan renews. We may change our prices. We will tell registered users in writing at least 30 days before. The new price starts at your next renewal, and you can cancel before then if you don’t want it. You may also get receipts or confirmations from Apple (iPhone subscriptions) or from Stripe and RevenueCat (website subscriptions). They send these, not Plainzy.
4. Billing and Cancellation
Paid plans are paid in advance and renew automatically, every month or every year, until you cancel. In the UK, prices include VAT. Elsewhere, any tax is shown before you pay. If you subscribe on our website, your payment is handled by Stripe. Website subscriptions are shown as “Sold through Onelink”: Onelink (which may also appear as Link), Stripe’s payment service, handles the payment and issues your receipts and invoices, and your card statement shows the payment as coming from Onelink or Link, followed by Plainzy (for example “ONELINK* PLAINZY” or “LINK.COM* PLAINZY”). You can read Onelink’s customer terms, including its Sold Through Onelink Terms, at onelink.com/gb/terms. For help with a website payment or order, you can also contact Onelink support at support.onelink.com. We use RevenueCat to look after your subscription status. If you subscribe in the iPhone app, Apple (or the app store you used) handles the billing under its own terms, and you cancel in that store’s subscription settings. To cancel a website subscription, sign in at plainzy.com, open Pricing and choose Manage subscription. You can also use the manage link in your Onelink receipt email (Onelink may ask you to create a Onelink account first). When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If you switch between the monthly and annual plan on our website, what happens depends on the direction. Switching from monthly to annual takes effect straight away: you pay the annual price less a credit for the unused part of your current month, and Stripe shows the amount before you confirm. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep the annual plan until then, nothing is charged now, the monthly price starts on that date, and we do not give a refund or credit for the rest of the annual period. Until a switch to monthly takes effect, you can cancel it from Manage subscription. If you switch during your free trial, the change takes effect when the trial ends. Your plan follows your Plainzy account, so you have the same plan on the website and mobile app. You can subscribe on our website or in the iPhone app in the same countries, listed on our Availability page.
Cancelling within 14 days (website purchases). You can cancel within 14 days of signing up and get a full refund. If you start with a free trial and are charged when it ends, you can still get that first payment back in full. To ask, use the Contact support form (choose Billing) or email hello@plainzy.com within 14 days of the charge. To cancel, email us or copy this: "To Plainzy (hello@plainzy.com): I want to cancel my Plainzy subscription. Ordered on: __ . Name: __ . Account email: __ . Date: __ ." Stripe may also refund a payment itself within 60 days if you ask it to. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and your bank may take a few working days to show them.
If you bought through Apple or another app store, that store handles refunds under its own terms. Apart from the rights above, we don’t refund part-used billing periods or unused analyses, unless the law says we must. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.
5. Your Account
You can use the Free plan without an account. To subscribe to Personal, or to keep your history and follow-up questions across devices, you create an account with an email and password, or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what happens under your account. Please keep your details accurate and use one account per person. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, including the Acceptable Use rules below. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; what that removes is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
• submit documents containing third-party personal data without authorisation;
• reverse-engineer or systematically copy the AI model or outputs for commercial purposes;
• use the service to generate content intended to mislead or defraud;
• use automated scripts or bots without prior written permission;
• attempt to circumvent the Free plan's usage limit — including by clearing app or browser data, reinstalling the app, using private or incognito browsing, or creating multiple accounts or devices for that purpose, or by avoiding network-level limits or automated bot checks.
7. Intellectual Property
The Plainzy name, logo, and website design are the property of Thoughtloom Digital Limited. AI-generated analysis outputs are provided for your personal use and may not be reproduced or redistributed commercially without permission.
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of Plainzy is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms. We do not keep the full text of your contract; it is processed to produce the analysis. If you create an account and sign in, we store the analysis results (including short flagged-clause extracts) linked to your account, so they’re available across your devices — see our Privacy Policy for full detail. We do not use your documents to train AI models.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Your legal rights (see Section 10) always apply. Otherwise, Plainzy is provided “as is”, with no promises. We do not promise that the analysis is accurate, complete, or right for your situation. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or damage from relying on Plainzy’s analysis, and the most we will owe you is what you paid us in the last 12 months (or £10 if you use the free plan). Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
10. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For example, digital content and services must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their purpose, and as described.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, registered users will receive at least 14 days’ email notice before changes take effect. If you don’t agree with a change, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before it takes effect. If you keep using Plainzy after that date, you accept the change.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a case in the courts where you live.
